One of the more experienced fighters competing tonight, Avious Griffin made his professional debut in June 2016 and has built up a record of 19-1 for himself since. Griffin, who has earned reigns as WBC USA welterweight champion and Tennessee state super welterweight champion, won 17 straight before suffering his lone defeat against Julian Rodriguez. All but one of his wins have come inside the distance, including his sixth-round finish of Jorge Ibarra Rodriguez in March.

The equally experienced Jackson Marinez also made his pro debut in 2016 and enters tonight 23-4. The Dominican Republic native won 19 straight at one point, and all four losses have come against ranked or unbeaten fighters at the time, including Frank Martin, Richard Commey, and then-WBA interim lightweight champion Ronaldo Romero. This is Marinez’s first bout since a first-round victory over Angel Apolinar Elena Perez nine months ago.
