Iyana “Roxy” Verduzco built up a solid amateur career for herself, becoming a two-time USA Youth national champion and a three-time USA Junior Olympics champion, as well as winning the 2016 USA Junior Women’s Open, the 2018 USA Women’s Youth Open, and the 2018 and 2019 USA Western Regional Women’s Youth Opens. Verduzco made her professional debut in October 2023. This will be the 7-0 Verduzco’s first fight since defeating Maria Salinas in November.

Miguelina Hernandez represented the Dominican Republic in Tokyo during the 2020 Olympics, and she was a competitor at the 2023 Pan-American Games, the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, and the 2022 and 2023 IBA World Championships. Hernandez made her pro debut almost exactly one year ago to the day of this event, having built up a record of 4-0 with three knockouts since. This is her first fight since scoring a unanimous decision over Zuliana Mendoza in May.
